The Hawksfold bird hides
Five purpose-built hides across the estate — over the ponds, into the oak wood, and along the rough margins where the owls hunt. All five are being built now — sessions will be private, booked by the day, dawn or dusk.
How hide sessions work
Each hide will be booked privately, by session — the hide is yours, whether you're a photographer with a long lens, a birder with a flask, or a family with a pair of shared binoculars. When sessions open you'll choose a date on the hide's calendar and send a booking request; we confirm within 24 hours. Staying guests can use unbooked hides freely and get priority on sessions.
- Morning sessions start before first light in season, when the wildlife is busiest.
- Evening sessions run to dusk — the owls' shift, and the best light of the day.
- What's provided: comfortable seating, shelf rests for lenses, screened approach routes and honest, current sighting notes. What's not: guarantees. This is wildlife, not television.

The birds come first, always. Hides are sited and screened so that arriving, watching and leaving doesn't disturb the wildlife; we don't use call playback or flash; feeding and habitat management are done by us, consistently, rather than ad hoc by visitors. We share honest recent-sightings notes in the Estate Journal rather than promising the impossible. If a nest or roost needs space, we'll close a hide and tell you why — and help you rebook.
